Hand-Painting Yarn

This is a workshop to dye yarn using hand-painting techniques. The long skein may be used for knitting and crochet. It may also be used on a rigid heddle loom for weaving.

The hand dyed yarn may be used for the warp and we will discuss basic techniques for combining colours. You will learn how to apply acid dyes onto the yarn to create multiple colours that work.

The acid dyes used for this workshop are low impact acid dyes. All the dyes will be exhausted at the end of the dyeing process so no excess dyes are released into the waterways.

For this workshop, you will bring home 200g of dyed yarn (1 long skein and 1 sock blank at 100g each).

3 hours, $130
