About this experience

If you have started on your tatting journey with one shuttle and ball thread, you may be looking to expand your repertoire with your tatting by adding beads.

Join us for this workshop where we will explore 4 different techniques of adding beads to your tatting projects. For this workshop, we will be including the appropriate beads, threads, crochet hook and patterns for your kit.

This workshop is suitable for anyone who is familiar with using at least a single tatting shuttle with ball thread. If you are a complete beginner, we recommend you try our Introduction to Shuttle Tatting class. A workshop kit that includes a tatting shuttle, thread, beading needles, crochet hook and handout.

Tatting is a traditional art of lace making. It may be done using tatting shuttles or tatting needles. Delicate lace designs are created using threads to form rings and chains. The fine lace may be used as trims for clothing and linens, table runners, doilies and decorations. Modern interpretations of the art sees many using it for jewelry, hair accessories and larger pieces as shawls etc.
