For this introductory class, you will learn the basic stitch that will enable you to create lace. We will discuss how to follow tatting patterns. Use the tatted pieces as earrings, bracelets, trims and sew them onto a plain item to dress it up!Â
Your class package includes a tatting shuttle, fine crochet hook, yarn and patterns to start you off on your tatting adventure! This workshop is also known as Lesson 1 in our Next Up - Learn to Shuttle Tat Series.
Tatting is a traditional art of lace making. It may be done using tatting shuttles or tatting needles. Delicate lace designs are created using threads to form rings and chains. The fine lace may be used as trims for clothing and linens, table runners, doilies and decorations. Modern interpretations of the art sees many using it for jewelry, hair accessories and larger pieces as shawls etc.
