Always wanted to experience weaving and looking to make something wearable?
Interested in weaving cloth but not ready to tackle the complexity of a multi-shaft table or floor loom?
The rigid heddle loom is a great way to get started in the intoxicating world of yarns and fabric!
During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to complete a handwoven scarf. using the Schacht Cricket Rigid Heddle Loom that has been set up with yarns that are hand-dyed locally by Lois Teo of ParkourKitties (Etsy).
For this workshop, you will not be learning how to warp a loom. You will be learning how to do the weaving on the loom that is pre-warped for you.
Weaving may be done on many different types of looms. Rigid heddle looms are easy to set up and weave on. It's the simplest type of loom to use to weave lengths of fabric. They come in various widths - 10 inches to 48 inches. We have several models in the studio available for use and rental.Â
