Discover the magic of weaving with color in this hands-on workshop, where you’ll learn to dress your loom with a hand-painted warp chain. Suitable for both rigid heddle and multi-shaft weavers, this class will guide you through preparing a standard warp chain and using warp end blending and shifting techniques to create a dynamic, painterly effect in your weaving.
Rigid heddle weavers will also learn indirect warping techniques to make the process smoother and more precise. All warp yarns, including a beautifully hand-painted warp chain, will be provided.
Participant Requirements: Bring your rigid heddle or table loom (minimum 8-inch weaving width) with a 12-dent reed. No prior experience with painted warps is necessary—just a love for color and creativity!
If you have a 10-dent reed and would like to use that for the class, do note that the colours would be more diffused due to the spacing of the warp ends. As for those who would like to purchase or rent a 12-dent reed for use during the workshop, do get in touch with us separately.
