Using two heddles on a rigid heddle loom allows you to expand your weaving possibilities. Besides being able to weave a finer fabric at a higher sett, you can also experiment with more complex cloth manipulation such as weaving double-width fabric and tubular fabric. More complex patterns such as simple twills can also be achieved.Â
For the purpose of this workshop, we will be focusing on weaving finer fabric, double-width fabric, tubular fabric and double-weave fabric.
You will need to either buy a second heddle that will fit your loom prior to the workshop and bring it for the workshop or rent one from the studio if one is available. All other materials will be provided as part of your workshop fees.
