In this immersive workshop, you’ll explore the rhythmic and meditative practice of strap weaving, where multiple vibrant designs can emerge from a single warp through creative card manipulation.

Tablet weaving—also known as card weaving—has been used for centuries to create strong, decorative bands for clothing, belts, ceremonial garments, and everyday tools. By learning this technique, you’re not just weaving a strap—you’re connecting with generations of artisans who used these skills to bring beauty and meaning to everyday life.

In this workshop, you’ll create your own woven band, ideal for:

• Belts and bag straps

• Key fobs and bookmarks

• Decorative trim

No prior experience is needed. Just select your preferred colour combination and your loom will be set up for you prior to the workshop. Have fun creating different design variations as you weave! 

All materials and tools are provided. Come with curiosity and leave with your own handwoven piece (1m to 1.2m long) and a new connection to global textile traditions.
