Love the look of Sashiko? Love the idea of a functional accessory? Join us for a few sessions of stitching and assemble all your squares into a bag!
Whether you are a complete beginner to Sashiko, or someone who already enjoys the cadence of slow stitching, this project is a fun way to enjoy the craft. A total of 22 squares are required for the construction of the bag. Take up the challenge to complete all 22 in Sashiko stitching or choose to finish a few to be used as accents and use your favourite fabric for the rest. Whatever your choice, you are sure to enjoy the bag at the end of the stitch along.
The stitch along dates and times:
Session 1 - 1 Mar (10am to 1pm) - Selection of Stitching Patterns and start of stitching of squares
Session 2 - 15 Mar (10am to 1pm) - Continuation of stitching of squares + Joining of squares to form the bag
Session 3- 29 Mar (10am to 5pm) (Whole Day) - Adding interface to the front fabric of the bag, cutting and sewing the lining of the bag, assembly of the bag
Materials for making the square panels as well as fabric for the lining and bag straps are not included in the cost of the study group. Please make your purchase of your preferred supplies before the start of the study group, or pop by the studio for recommendations.
