Studio Policies
Craft Atelier is a working studio where making, learning, and attention are held with care. These policies exist to support clarity for visitors and participants, and to ensure the studio is able to host well.
These guidelines apply to all studio visits, workshops, consultations, and customised programmes unless otherwise specified.
1. Booking & Attendance
-
Appointments
Visits to the studio are by prior appointment or workshop registration. This allows us to prepare the space, ensure equipment is available, and make sure one of us is present to host you.
-
Arrival & Lateness
Workshops begin promptly at their scheduled time. Participants who arrive late may join the session, but instruction may not be repeated in full so as not to disrupt the rest of the group. Workshops end at the stated time in order to honour subsequent appointments.
-
No-Shows & Unexpected Events
We recognise that life can throw unexpected curveballs, and plans may need to change. If participants contact the studio at least 24 hours in advance, we will do our best to reschedule their booking or convert it to studio credit if no alternative date can be agreed upon. Written confirmation from the studio is required for the change to be valid.
If no notice is given and a participant does not attend, the booking is considered a no-show and the seat is forfeited with no refund.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
-
Participant-Initiated Changes
If you need to reschedule or cancel a booking, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. We will do our best to accommodate changes. If a mutually agreeable replacement date cannot be arranged, the booking will be converted to studio credit.
-
Studio-Initiated Changes
In the event Craft Atelier needs to cancel or reschedule a session, we will offer options for a replacement date. If no suitable date can be agreed upon, customers may choose between a refund or studio credit.
-
Studio Credits
Studio credits expire 12 months from the date of issue. Credits are not transferable, but may be used to purchase goods or book workshops for another person.
-
Communication Channels
Changes may be requested via email, WhatsApp, or direct message on our social media channels. A change is considered valid only upon written confirmation from the studio.
3. Participation & Conduct
-
Phones & Photography
Phones should remain on silent during workshops. Photography for personal documentation is welcome. If you need to take a call, please step outside to avoid disturbing others.
-
Food & Drinks
Bottled water and small cold snacks are acceptable during workshops, provided they are consumed away from tools, equipment, fibres, and materials. Hot meals should be consumed outside the studio; there is an open-air garden with seating adjacent to the space (weather dependent).
-
Children
Children are welcome. For workshops, children aged 9 and above who are able to use the washroom independently and follow craft instruction without adult intervention may attend without a parent. Younger children may participate when accompanied by an adult participant (both must be registered).
-
Assistance & Companions
Companions who wish to observe, browse, or take part in informal making should book a Studio Visit. For consultations or workshops, additional companions are charged as participants.
If a companion is required for accessibility or special support reasons, please let us know when booking so we can make suitable arrangements.
4. Materials, Tools & Equipment
Workshop fees include materials and the use of tools unless otherwise stated. Participants may bring their own materials for consultations or studio visits involving equipment use; for workshops, please contact us beforehand to confirm suitability.
Independent use of equipment is not permitted outside studio hours. A Craft Atelier instructor must always be present when tools or machinery are in use.
5. Studio Environment & Accessibility
The studio is located on Level 3 with lift access and underground parking. Wheelchair users may enter the space; door clearance accommodates a standard wheelchair.
Please note the studio contains fibres, wool, lanolin, dyes, and related materials. Individuals with allergies or sensitivities should prepare accordingly. Due to allergy and religious sensitivities, pets are not permitted in the studio.
Strollers may need to be left outside the studio unless compactly foldable, due to space constraints.
6. Safety & Consideration
We ask all visitors and participants to use tools and equipment responsibly and to follow instructor guidance. Craft Atelier reserves the right to pause or stop tool use if safety or damage concerns arise.
7. Data, Privacy & Photography
Photographs may be taken during workshops and studio visits. Where possible, we avoid showing participants’ faces unless consent is given. Personal contact information is collected solely for booking, co-ordination, and communication related to the studio’s work. For full details on privacy and data use, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
8. Goods, Workshops & Services
These policies apply to workshops, consultations, and studio visit appointments. Goods purchased through our webshop are covered separately under our Return & Refund Policy and Shipping Policy.
