Tour de Fleece

Tour de Fleece is an annual spinning event that takes place alongside the Tour de France. Traditionally, participants spin on the days that the cyclists race, setting personal goals and challenges for themselves throughout the event.

At Craft Atelier, we see Tour de Fleece as an opportunity to build a regular spinning practice and to spin together as a community. Whether your goal is to spin every day, complete a specific project, learn a new technique, or simply spend more time at the wheel, the challenge is yours to define.

There are no minimum requirements and no competition. Set goals that are meaningful and achievable for you, then enjoy the process alongside fellow spinners throughout the Tour.

Challenge Days & Rest Days

Just as the cyclists face mountain stages and rest days, Tour de Fleece includes optional challenge days and rest days.

Challenge days are an opportunity to push yourself a little further — perhaps by trying a new fibre, exploring a different technique, or tackling a spinning challenge you have been putting off. Rest days are a chance to pause, reflect, and recharge before continuing your journey.

How to Participate

Ready to spin with us?

Join our Tour de Fleece 2026 WhatsApp group using this link. Once you've joined the group, you are in!

We will be using the group to share progress, celebrate milestones, ask questions, exchange tips, and encourage one another throughout the Tour. Whether you are spinning every day, working towards a specific project, or simply finding more time to spin this July, we would love to have you along for the journey.

Many participants also share their journey online using hashtags such as #TourdeFleece and #TdF2026. By posting your progress, you will be able to connect with and draw inspiration from the wider global spinning community taking part in the event.

Craft Atelier Community Night

Our third-quarter Community Night happens to fall during the Tour de Fleece period this year, making it a wonderful opportunity for participants to gather and spin together in person.

As with all our Community Nights, this gathering is open to everyone — Tour de Fleece participants, spinners, fibre artists, curious beginners, and members of our wider fibre arts community. Whether you bring a wheel, a spindle, a knitting project, or simply yourself, you are warmly invited to spend an evening in good company.

Come share your progress, exchange stories and ideas, learn more about spinning, meet fellow fibre enthusiasts, or simply enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by people who appreciate making with their hands.

After all, Tour de Fleece is not just about spinning yarn. It is about making time for our craft, connecting with one another, and building community along the way.
