Weaving with Hand-Painted Warps
Weaving with Hand-Painted Warps
This workshop explores colour blending in weaving through the use of a hand-painted warp. Participants learn how colour placement and warp arrangement influence visual transitions in cloth, and how shifting and blending warp ends can create painterly or graduated effects during weaving.
The session includes preparing and dressing the loom with a painted warp chain. Rigid heddle weavers are introduced to indirect warping techniques to support accurate and manageable setup.
